How to Update Your Calendar's Date Format in Safari

If the 'Entered date on your NightsBridge Online Calendar (the date the booking was made) looks a little confusing (like seeing the month before the day!), it is simply because your calendar automatically uses the date format set by your computer's web browser.

Keeping your dates clear and easy to read helps you avoid booking mistakes and run a tighter ship. Here is how to quickly update your language settings on your Mac so your dates display perfectly on Safari.

The problem:

You'd prefer to have a dd/mm/yyyy format!

The solution:

Step 1: Open your General Settings

Just click the apple icon on the top-left hand corner of your screen and then 'System Settings'.

  1. Once your settings open , look for the 'Language & Region' option and click on it.

Step 2: Choose English (United Kingdom)

To get that standard Day/Month/Year (dd/MM/yyyy) format, you will need to make sure English (UK) is set as the display language and sitting at the very top of your language list!

If you see it on the list but it isn't at number 1:

  • Just click and hold 'English (UK)' under Preferred Languages and move this to the top.

Click on the 'Restart Now' to refresh all you open browsers.

Don't see it on the list? No problem!

  • Just click the '+' (plus) button.
  1. Find and select English (UK)
  2. and click 'Add'.

A pop-up will open to ask if you would like to use English (UK) as your primary language.

  • Select 'Use English (UK).

Click on the 'Restart Now' to refresh all you open browsers.

Step 3: Step 3: Check your calendar

Now that your browser has refreshed, pop back over to your Online Calendar tab and check the date format.

The date format has now updated!
