How to change the rates of an existing booking

Sometimes you want to offer a special once-off discount to a guest, or perhaps you just need to manually tweak the daily rate for a direct booking. The good news is that you can easily adjust the price for a specific stay right from your calendar, without having to change your main rates in your Setup.

Here is a quick step-by-step guide to help you do it.

A quick note about channel bookings

Before we begin, it is important to note that you should never change the rates on bookings that have come from an online channel (like Booking.com or Expedia). Those rates are directly linked to the commission you pay. If you need to make a change, it is always best to do it directly on the channel itself so that they can adjust your commission accurately.

Step 1: Open up the booking

Simply click on the reservation on your calendar to open the Booking Details window.

Step 2: Open the rates page

Find and click the View Rates button. This will display all the daily rates for that specific stay.

Step 3: Make your adjustments (the quick way)

When the page opens, you will notice a little box called Fill to the right that is ticked by default. This is a handy shortcut! It means if you click on the first rate field and type in a new price, the system will automatically apply that exact same rate to all the remaining nights of the booking.

Step 4: Charging different rates per night?

If you want to charge a different amount for each night, simply untick the Fill to the right box. Now, you can easily click into each individual night's field and amend the rates exactly as you need them.

Step 5: Save your changes

As you type, you will notice that the booking total updates automatically. Once you are happy with the new numbers, click Save. This will close the rates page and take you back to the main Booking Details window.

Finally, click the Save button at the bottom of the Booking Details window to lock everything in. You can close the booking details.

Should you need to calculate a new deposit total, you can follow these simple steps.
