What property information is shared with which connected booking channel depends on the type of connection the booking channel can support with NightsBridge.

Let's have a look at what property information NightsBridge can share with some of the connected booking channels listed in the Links Manager.

a) If you do not have a listing, you will need to register with this channel directly before the connection process can be facilitated by a member of the NightsBridge Connectivity Team

• b) If you have an existing listing, the Connectivity Team will facilitate the connection activation.
• For new listings (created by NightsBridge) all content and photos are matched on this channel.

• For existing listings content can be manually adjust to match NightsBridge or completely overwritten by NightsBridge.

• The photo gallery can be matched.
• The policies set up on the booking channel itself are applied to bookings from this channel.

• The channel takes full payment and pays you directly.

Booking.com: How the connection works
1. Request the connection via the Links Manager.

a) If you do not have a listing, you will need to register with this channel directly before the connection process can be facilitated by a member of the NightsBridge Connectivity Team

b) If you have an existing listing, the Connectivity Team will facilitate the connection activation.
• For new listings (created by NightsBridge) all content and photos are matched on this channel.

• For existing listings content can be manually adjust to match NightsBridge or completely overwritten by NightsBridge.

• The photo gallery can be matched.
• The policies set up on the booking channel itself are applied to bookings from this channel.

• Payment can either be:
a) managed directly with the guest, by yourself or manually/directly. The payment details will be provided by Booking.com

b) managed by online payment gateway.

c) managed by Booking.com with payouts to property.

How NightsBridge shares property information with booking channels, and what is shared.

Along with information (data) on your rates and availability, NightsBridge has connections to channels that allow for the transfer of photos and other property content available on NightsBridge.
What information/data is shared, with which channel and when, depends on the type of connection the booking channel can support with NightsBridge.

The first step in understanding how property information and other content (like photos) is shared with connected booking channels, is to understand the connection type.

The connection types

How NightsBridge shares data/information with a booking channel depends on the type of connection the booking channel can support.

This could be:
a Standard Connection used by most booking channels offering a connection via NightsBridge.
an Extranet Connection
used by booking channels that offer an extranet (Airbnb, Booking.com and others)

How and what information is shared on:

a Standard Connection
How information is shared with most booking channels

With a standard connection (used by most booking channels), NightsBridge provides access to the property information (the data) and the booking channel is responsible for retrieving the information to use on their own site when needed.

Understanding a standard connection

With this channel connection type, when needed, the channel extracts (pulls) the latest data/information (ie your rates and availability) from NightsBridge.

Here's an example:

  • A booker accesses your property listing on a booking channel and searches for specific dates.
  • The booking channel then requests and receives this information from NightsBridge.
  • The booking channel can then display the latest rates and availability to the booker.

Similar to a channel requesting rates and availability via this connection, property information (policies, descriptions and photos) is also available to the booking channel on NightsBridge. The booking channel just needs to retrieve this information.

What information is shared

On the standard channel connection, NightsBridge will always make the latest information (data) available to the connected channels.

This information includes (but is not limited to):

  • Rates and availability
  • policies
  • room type categories
  • room type descriptions
  • property descriptions
  • photos/images.

Remember: While NightsBridge will always make this information (policies, descriptions and photos) available to your connected channels, we cannot enforce that these are applied to your listing(s) with the specific booking channel.

It is always recommended to check your property and policy information directly with the connected booking channels.

an Extranet Connection
How information is shared with booking channels that have an extranet

For larger booking channels that provide an extranet connection (like Airbnb and Booking.com), NightsBridge is granted extranet access and can transfer property information to the booking channels extranet (once a connection has been established). Since an extranet connection is more complex, it offers this capability.

Understand an extranet connection

NightsBridge can transfer data to these channels.

With an extranet connection type, NightsBridge is able to transfer (push) data/information to the extranet when needed. The booking channel will source the latest information that was updated by NightsBridge (ie your rates and availability) from their own extranet.

Here's an example:

  • NightsBridge keeps you data updated on the extranet.
  • A booker accesses a booking channel and searches your property for specific dates.
  • The booking channel reviews the rates and availability on its own system (that's updated by NightsBridge) and provides the booker with the information.
Sharing content/photos with Airbnb

NightsBridge will only transfer bulk property content to a Airbnb when applying the 'Sync everything' status setting.

Airbnb offers two connection status settings:

  • Sync everything - used when NightsBridge creates a listing or completely overwrites an existing listing.
  • Sync pricing and availability - set after creation to allow you to control your own Airbnb content

Sharing content/photos with Booking.com

NightsBridge will only transfer bulk property content to a Booking.com listing when NightsBridge creates a listing on the properties behalf.
