TravelIT Public Sector: How the connection works

This tutorial will provide an outline of how bookings, payments, invoicing and policies work when TravelIT Public Sector is connected to NightsBridge.

About
  • TravelIT Public Sector is a B2B (business-to-business) booking system which interdependent travel agents and agencies can access and book for clients. 
Who books here?
  • The agent who books on behalf of their corporate client, using TravelIT's booking system.
How to sign up
 
  • Request a connection to TravelIT on the Links Manager.  
  • Once your property is linked to TravelIT, NightsBridge will assist you link your 'TIPS' (TravelIT Public Sector) STO rate sheet to TravelIT Public Sector on NightsBridge after checking and confirming the rates with you.
Bookings
  • Instant bookings are made by TravelIT Public Sector through NightsBridge and will either be confirmed with a voucher or cancelled within 24 to 36 hours of being booked. Same-day bookings will either be confirmed with a voucher or cancelled within 6 hours.
  • If the booking is not confirmed with a voucher or cancelled by TravelIT within the time frame mentioned above, you can cancel the booking on your calendar to free up availability.

  • TravelIT Public Sector does not accept Campsite room types.
  • TravelIT Public Sector uses our content as added by each property. 
  • Changes made on your NightsBridge takes 24 hours to update.
Payments
Invoicing
 
  • NightsBridge will invoice TravelIT Public Sector on your behalf if the booking was confirmed with a voucher.
  • Please search for our article called How to trace channel payments and invoices to find the invoice NightsBridge has sent to TravelIT on your behalf.
Vouchers
  • TravelIT Public Sector will send you an email with the voucher to process payment once a booking has been confirmed. 
  • If you do not receive the email you can download the voucher yourself. Please look at our tutorial called TravelIT: How to download a voucher should you need guidance.
Refunds

 
  • The property needs to refund TravelIT Public Sector.
  • TravelIT Public Sector will refund the agent.
Countries
  • South Africa.
Admin fee
  • 10% (including VAT)
Rates
 
  • NightsBridge provides your rate sheet rates (TIPS) as entered in your NightsBridge Setup to TravelIT Public Sector.
  • The 'TIPS' rate sheet is to qualify for a 2.5% rebate (which is paid in increments whenever the 2.5% exceeds R500).
  • VAT and commission payable to TravelIT Public Sector must be included in your rates.
Corporate allowances
Specials and packages
  • Should you choose to, you can load and link Specials and Packages to TravelIT Public Sector via your NightsBridge Setup.
  • Please note that Specials and Packages rates will also have the 10% admin fee charged on top of the discount.
Policies

The policies you have set up in NightsBridge are automatically applied to bookings made via TravelIT Public Sector.

  • Minimum length stay

By connecting to TravelIT through NightsBridge, you agree to a flexible cancellation policy. Please look at our tutorial called TravelIT: Booking cancellations for more information on how this works. 

 

Because TravelIT is mainly booked for corporate travelers, travel arrangements may change at short notice. If you manage to sell the room, please consider not enforcing your cancellation policy. We encourage this flexibility as this connection can attract many bookings, especially if your property is in close proximity to a business area.
