PayBridge Terms of Use

Here are some important things to note about using our PayBridge products, and the Terms of Use you must agree to in order to use a PayBridge product.

Important to note

Automatic deposit deduction

  • When a booking is made online, the deposit will be deducted from the guest's credit card automatically once the card details are entered.
  • The money will be paid to you two to three working days later.
  • All our PayBridge products will automatically swipe any virtual card bookings on the correct date.

Balance payments

You are responsible for collecting the balance payment, either before the guest arrives or on check-in.

PayBridge or PayBridge 3D

  • With our PayBridge or PayBridge 3D payment credit card gateway, you can generate a link to process manual credit card transactions from your NightsBridge calendar.
  • This link can be used to settle the guest's balance on their account or to process a payment that failed.
  • We always recommend generating a 3D-Secure link to prevent fraudulent transactions.

PayBridge Lite

  • PayBridge Lite does not offer a link to send to clients for the balance payment, so you must take the balance payment on your card machine.

Reversals/refunds

  • There are times when the cardholder needs to be refunded, e.g. when the booking is cancelled, the amount for the booking changes or it was a fraudulent payment that needs to be refunded.
  • If you don't refund a guest and it results in a dispute, you will be liable to NightsBridge.
  • Read more about reversals/refunds here: How to reverse a credit card payment on NightsBridge.

Change of ownership

  • In the event there is a change of Ownership, you must advise NightsBridge.
  • If the new owner would like to use a PayBridge product, they will need to complete a new application and re-sign the PayBridge Terms of Use.
  • All payments that are on hold and/or chargebacks incurred before the change of ownership are the old owner's responsibility, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

Changes to PayBridge Terms of Use

  • Due to changes in our service offering, NightsBridge may be required to amend the PayBridge Terms of Use.
  • The latest version of the Terms of Use will apply when you make use of the services or log on to the NightsBridge site.

Formal liability

  • NightsBridge is not liable for any damages to the property by guests, as the booking arrangement is between the guest and the property.
  • This agreement is accepted by the nominated person represented by the company to accept these terms of use.
  • You accept personal liability should the company no longer be in a position to cover the costs incurred through credit card transactions.
  • By Receiving this document, NightsBridge acknowledges and accepts your application for the use of our PayBridge Service.

Cancellation

  • If you wish to cancel PayBridge, any outstanding chargebacks need to be refunded to us first.
  • Should any chargebacks be processed after cancellation, you agree to refund us immediately by EFT. Failing this, we reserve the right to temporarily re-activate PayBridge in order for us to be refunded from incoming transactions.

PayBridge Terms of Use

Fees

  • The service will be charged monthly, payable in advance (6 monthly or 12 monthly options are possible).
  • Card processing fees are charged as a percentage of each payment received from a guest and are exclusive of VAT. They are periodically reviewed and are subject to change.
  • The following card fees apply:
    • Local Visa and MasterCard payment (authenticated via 3D secure) - 2.5%
    • Local Visa and MasterCard payment (not authenticated via 3D secure) - 2.75%
    • International Visa and MasterCard payment - 2.95%
    • Virtual card payment - 3.82%
    • American Express and Diners payment - 4%
  • A payout fee of R3.00 (Excl. VAT) will be charged per transfer made to your establishment.
  • Card fees charged on payments received from guests will not be refunded in the event that the payment itself is reversed. NightsBridge is subject to this standard practice set by acquiring banks.

Chargebacks

  • I understand that card holders have the right to question an item charged to their credit card and request that the bank reverse this charge.
  • I understand that only a written signature or a 3DSecure transaction will prove that the card holder accepted the charge to his/her card.
  • I understand that when a chargeback dispute is declared against a particular payment, I must refund any amounts previously paid over to me by NightsBridge, including the full card processing fees relating to the original payment.
  • I understand that the payment will be deemed void until such time as the chargeback dispute is resolved with the client and the acquiring bank.
  • I understand that the bank does not recognise the impact of my cancellation policy, for instance, if the guest cancels their booking or does not arrive as expected.

Termination

  • NightsBridge reserves the right to terminate or suspend access to the PayBridge service at any time, with or without cause, by providing written notice.
  • Upon termination, you will be responsible for settling any outstanding chargebacks and refunds.
  • Any pending transactions or obligations must be resolved before the termination date. Failure to fulfil these obligations may result in the temporary reactivation of PayBridge to recover funds.
  • Any chargebacks processed after cancellation must be refunded immediately via EFT.
  • Termination does not relieve either party from obligations incurred prior to the termination date.

Managing Payments

  • I understand that NightsBridge has the right to reverse a transaction if they suspect the payment is fraudulent.
  • I understand that NightsBridge has the right to place a payment on hold until authentication documents have been sent to NightsBridge upon their request. E.g. high value bookings, or fraudulent payments.
  • I understand that if I do not pay the NightsBridge invoice 7 days after presentation, NightsBridge has the right to deactivate my account.
  • I understand that an overdue NightsBridge account will result in transactions being withheld until the NightsBridge account is settled in full.
