A Rate Override allows you to set a specific price for a room type and date range, replacing the existing rate from your rate sheet. This article will guide you through setting up a Rate Override on NightsBridge.
Important Things to Know Before You Start
Before adding a Rate Override, keep the following in mind:
- Rate Overrides replace the base rate completely.
- They do not support:
- Minimum stays
- Booking windows
- Early Bird or Last Minute rules
- Only one date range can be used per override.
- Overrides apply to online bookings.
- Overrides may cancel Rate Discounts if both apply to the same dates.
If you need rules, conditions, or promotional logic, a Rate Discount is usually a better option.
How to Add a Rate Override
Go to Rate Override
- Select 'Setup' on your Main Menu.
- Select 'Rate Discounts' on your Setup menu.
- Your Rate Discounts page will open.
- Click on the 'Rate Overrides' button to set up a Rate Override.
Add the Rate Override
- Click on the Add button.
Complete the details of the override by:
- Using the drop-down menu to select the Rate Sheet,
- Room Type, and
- Meal Plan the override will be applied to.
- Use the calendar widget to select the Start and End dates - The override will apply to all nights within this range.
- Type in the rate(s) that will override the the base rate(s) on the selected rate sheet - Overrides are not percentage-based.
- Confirm the information and click on 'Save'.
The new Rate Override will display.
- Click on 'Exit'
Publish your Setup
- Click on the 'Publish' button to distribute your Basic Discount.
- A confirmation message will display.
View your Rate Override online
Remember that your search on your Booking Engine will need to match the conditions of the Rate Override you created.
Note that since this is a Rate Override and not a Rate Discount, no promotional display is added.
Only the base rate is updated.
