Managing Online Reviews across platforms

Reviews used to exist only on platforms built specifically for it –  like Tripadvisor. Now, many other platforms also include opinions of previous guests. Guests may review you on your Facebook page, on the channel they booked through or even on Google.

Reply regularly.

It is important to reply to reviews to show a potential guest that you care about your business. Getting back to someone with an opinion on your property builds a relationship with them. They will quite possibly be willing to return if you manage your response well.

Bad reviews might happen. But you can put a positive spin on a negative review by responding to it in the correct way.

Claim your Tripadvisor page so you can manage reviews.

There are two ways to do this - you can either create a brand new listing, or claim an existing one (someone might have already made a review about your property).

Go to www.tripadvisor.com/Owners to see if your business is listed. Type the name of your business in the box. If it appears in the results, a traveller already created a listing for you by adding a review. Select your business from the drop down and then click the “Claim Your Business” button.

If your business is not listed on Tripadvisor yet, there won’t be any matches in the drop-down search results. In that case, click the “Get listed now” link below the search box.

To do: Claim your business on Tripadvisor

Encourage more reviews.

We assist clients by automating the Tripadvisor review request process for them. This helps with the quantity and frequency of review, which in turn helps your Tripadvisor ranking.

To do: Set up automated email to guests to ask for Tripadvisor review

To collect more Google reviews, send your guests a link in a follow-up mail after their stay to ask for them to review your property on Google.

Display your latest Tripadvisor reviews on your NightsBridge booking form.

This can help with giving your potential guest that extra 'nudge' which they may need to complete the online booking. Guests won't be redirected away from your NightsBridge booking form when looking at your Tripadvisor reviews.

To do: Activate this feature on your booking form
