How to generate a payment link and process payment with a guest

When using NightsBridge Pay or another connected payment gateway, you can generate a payment link to send to your guest, or open the payment link for the guest to complete the payment in-person by providing their card details.
This process can be used to copy and send the link to the guest, or it can be used when a guest is physically present to settle their account.

Whether you use NightsBridge Pay or another connected payment gateway, the process is the same.

Go to the Booking & Payment Status page

  • Click on the 'View Payment Status & Booking History'
    This will open the Booking and Payment Status page for the booking.

Create the payment link

  • Click on the 'Create Payment Link' button.

A pop-up message will appear.

Do you want to create a 3D Secure payment link?

  • If you select Yes, the payment link will be 3D Secure. The guest will need to enter an OTP (one time pin) or accept the transaction via their mobile banking app to confirm the payment.
    We always recommend using a 3D Secure payment link.
  • If you select No, this extra authentication (OTP) step will be skipped. This important OTP step is what reduces fraud and charge-backs.
  • Click on 'Yes' to create a 3D Secure payment link

The 3D Secure payment link will display.

For non-3D Secure transactions, it is essential to collect the necessary documents. This is the signed NightsBridge Pay transaction slip and copy of the cardholders ID/Passport/Drivers license.

  • Click on 'No' to create a non-3D Secure payment link

Another pop-up message will display to confirm your choice.

  • Select 'Non 3D-Link' to continue with this option.

The non-3D Secure payment link will display.

How do you want to use the payment link?

Send the link to the guest

  • Click on the 'Copy' button

You can now paste the link into an email, message or Whatsapp to send to the guest.

Open the payment link

  • Click on the 'Open' button.
    The payment form will open.

Complete the payment information

Complete the form by tying in the:

  1. credit card number
  2. name on the card
  3. expiry date
  4. CVC/CVV
  5. amount to be changed
  6. Click on 'Continue'

Allow the guest to type in the information.
If the situation allows, its always best to let the guest to handle their own credit card information.

Confirm the payment

A pop-up confirmation request will display.

  1. Let the guest review and confirm that the amount is correct.
  2. Click on the 'Confirm' button

If the amount is incorrect, click on 'Go Back' to revisit the payment form and update the amount.

Guest will now authorise the payment

The guest will now be required to authorise the transaction by completing OTP process or accepting the transaction via their banking app.

Not applicable for non-3D Secure transactions.

After the guest has authorised the transaction, it will be confirmed once processed.

For non-3D Secure transactions

Ensure that the cardholder signs the NightsBridge Pay transaction slip and that you make a copy of the cardholders ID/Passport/Drivers license.
These serve as proof that the guest agreed to and was present at the time of the transaction.
